PRODUCTS THAT LAST FOREVER AND DO NOT CONTAMINATE THE ENVIRONMENT

Iris U.S. is committed to sustainable design.

"Sustainable design is achieved through an integrated design and delivery process that enhances the natural and built environment by using energy sensibly with a goal toward carbon neutrality, improves air and water quality, protects and preserves water and other resources [which then] creates environments, communities and buildings that are livable, comfortable, productive, diverse, safe, and provide enduring value to our community and society as a whole." - AIA CES Provider Connection

WE REUSE 100% OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE FROM FIRED AND UNFIRED TILES.  Iris U.S. recycles 100% of fired and unfired tiles throughout the manufacturing process.

WE RECYCLE 100% OF WASTE WATER.  Iris U.S. production process is a closed-loop process that recycles 100% of water wastes back to the production cycle, which reduces water consumption by more than 50%.

WE RELEASE VERY LOW GAS EMISSIONS INTO THE ATMOSPHERE.  In order to keep our emissions far below the strict U.S. limits, Iris U.S. has invested in the latest, most efficient technology.

WE CONSERVE ENERGY.  Iris U.S. conserves the heat emitted during the firing process and reuses it in the preparation of the mix used for the body, which reduces the need for methane by 25%.

WE USE 100% RECYCLABLE MATERIAL FOR PACKING.  Iris U.S. uses recycled materials wherever possible to help reduce the amount of raw materials and energy required to produce paper and plastic products, such as carton boxes, cardboard packaging, plastic materials, and wooden pallets.

CONTRIBUTING TO LEED CERTIFICATION POINTS

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a green building rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).  This system was designed as a voluntary program developed for high-performance, environmentally-friendly, sustainable buildings.

While LEED does not certify materials, Iris U.S. materials can help reduce the environmental impacts of building operation by delivering exceptional durability and low maintenance requirements.

• Our materials are manufactured using recycled products.  (Section MR - 4.1)

• Iris U.S. products do not emit VOCs or require waxes, sealants, or coatings that could add harmful VOC off-gassing after installation. (Section EQ - 4.2)

• A majority of Iris U.S. materials do not alter the energy balance of the environments in which they are installed and do not produce any Urban Heat Island Effect (Section SS - 7.1)

• Iris U.S. strives for excellence and is environmentally conscious in terms of our production cycles and finished products.  (Section ID - 1.1-1.4)
